Vancouver Grade 8 Independent:

1. St. George's

2. Vancouver College

3. Notre Dame

The Grade 8 Independent League boast a potential Preseason favourite to win the Provincial Title in the St. George's Saints. The Saints are a massive group with huge expectations and boast many of the top club players in the Province. Look for Eli Van Haren to have a big first HS season as he stands at 6'4 and possesses skills far beyond his years. The Vancouver College and St. George's rivalry usually decides which team goes to Provincials, albeit, this year there should be limited competition in the matchup as St. George's is head and shoulder above the competition, the one hindrance may be that St. George's has a new coaching staff which is unproven under the pressure and circumstances that come with coaching in this program. Notre Dame rounds out the Independent League top 3, but look for St. Patrick's and Vancouver College to be battling for the 2, 3 and 4 spots in the league. There should only be one team heading to Provincials from this group, as the league is in a relatively down year compare to the past.
