2016 RANKINGS: GRADE 9 INDEPENDENT, VANCOUVER BOYS BASKETBALL

1. Vancouver College

2. St. George's

3. St. Patrick's

The battle for Grade 9 Independent supremacy will likely decide who wins the Provincial Championship this season. With most schools moving up their best players to Juniors, St. George's and Vancouver College typically have some of the strongest Grade 9 teams in the Province, this year is no different. Both teams have strong and deep rosters, and both finished in the top 5 in the Province last season as Grade 8's. St. George's won the overall battle last year 4-1 in head to heads but Vancouver College won the game that mattered in the Playoffs. Look for this matchup to be a markee one in Vancouver in January and February when they face each other 3 times. Many of the top club players in the Province are represented in these grades with lots of Drive Elite 1 and 2 players, and Dynamite Basketball players who have put in work in the offseason. St. Patrick's round out the top-3 as they have been working hard with most of their players developing with DreamHoops Academy in the offseason. Their Lack of Size and depth will be an issue when matching up with Saints and VC.
