This week the zone tournaments begin around the province as the teams begin to clinch spots in the BC High School Boys Provincial Tournament that will be held March 8th-12th.

Tonight at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, BC the 1A and 2A Lower Mainland’s Semi-Finals took place.

First up was the King George Dragons vs R.C. Palmer Griffins. The Dragons were able to top the Griffins 83-52 in regulation. In the win over the Griffins, the Dragon’s top scorers were Yoel Techlehaimanot 32pts, Boris Obradovic 16pts, and Mohab Mundadi 14pts. R.C. Palmer’s top scorers were Andrew Reddy 10pts, Kyle Dass 9pts and Steven Sidiqi 8pts.

On the other side of the bracket St.Patrick’s Celtics took on the Cambie Crusaders. The game started with a quick pace. The Crusaders defeated the Celtics 84-75. Cambie Crusader Kyle Kondola with a game high of 23pts. Other contributors from the Crusaders were Esteban Carrison 19pts, Kevin Dhillon 17pts, Zak Hassan 17pts.

On Thursday the King George Dragons will face the Cambie Crusaders for the 2A Lower Mainland Championship Final. Both teams in the finals have clinched a spot in the 2A BC Boys Basketball Tournament. The St.Patricks Celtics will play R.C. Palmer for the 3rd spot at the 2A Provincials.
