Tonight's match ups at the Richmond Olympic Oval consisted of the 3A and 4A Lower Mainland Championship Finals. In the 3A Steveston-London Sharks took on Byrne Creek Bulldogs and St.George's Saints vs Vancouver College Fighting Irish in the 4A.

In the first match up, Steveston-London Sharks played the Byrne Creek Bulldogs. The Sharks fell short and lost 101-92 to the Bulldogs. Bulldog's Grade 10 Standout Bithow Wan put up 36 points with Martin Djunga 30 points and Abdul Bangura 18 Points. In Steveston London's loss Fardaws Aimaq contributed 40 points. 

The top 4 teams from the 3A Lower Mainland Championships will qualify for provincials March 8th-12th. 

Top 4 Teams to Provincials: 

  1. Byrne Creek 
  2. Steveston London 
  3. St.Thomas More
  4. Lord Byng

In the second match up for the 4A Lower Mainland Finals was the St.George's Saints and Vancouver College. Tonight was the third time for these two teams to meet this season. In the previous two meetings, the Fighting Irish took home both games. Vancouver College was off to a strong start as St.George's just trailing right behind. The Saints were able to bring the game close to a tie but the Fighting Irish extended their lead as they closed the game 83-73. Contributing to the win from Vancouver College; Cam Wright with 18 points, Sam Bailey 17 points, and Jack Cruz-Dumont 16 points. For St.George’s their top scorers were Jacob Van-Santen 26 points and Louis Sujir with 17 points. 

Both teams will advance to the 4A BC Boys Basketball Championships March 8th-12th. For the last spot for the 4A division, Kitsilano defeated Burnaby South.
