Athlete Profile:

Luka Dolman

6’3” Guard

Grade 10, Kitsilano

Signature move: Right handed spin fade

Luka is a stand-out player amongst the top Grade 10 players in BC.  An agile athlete, he can work the paint as well as knock down jumpers.  Even at one of the top high school boys programs in the province, he is averaging over 30 points a game. He’s proven himself to be a force on the courts – earning a 1st Team All-Star at the 2016 Junior Boys Provincial Championship, even though Kits finished 4th place.

This season has rekindled a good rivalry against Churchill who recently got the better of the Blue Demons despite a valiant effort by Dolman who played a spectacular game and nabbed 35 points.

While Luka is still very young in his basketball career, he has big dreams of taking his game to the legendary UCLA campus just like his. NBA hero Russell Westbrook. Outside of the school season, Luka trains with Drive at the Richmond Oval where he is determined to put in the work to reach his goal of playing Division I basketball in the NCAA.

“I’m the player I am right now because I’m never satisfied.  I never stop fighting, there’s always room for improvement.”

A player of his caliber is bound to have many on-court rivals, but Luka keeps the rivalries friendly and wants to train with and against the best.  Keep your eye on Dolman over the rest of the season and the years to come as he has the makings of a true champion.
