If you’ve been following the NBA Playoffs at all, by this point, you know who Kelly Olynyk is. Often mistaken for the son of the all-time Boston Celtic great Larry Bird, is the 7 foot, 238 lbs Forward for Boston and formerly of the South Kamloops Titans. Yes you read that right. The same player who just dropped 26 points on the Washington Wizards in a do or die game 7 this last week was both raised and played right here in BC. Even better than that, Kelly is coming back to the Richmond Olympic Oval this summer on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 for a skills Clinic with fellow NBA’er and NBA Champion: Danny Green.

Olynyk was named the Basketball BC outstanding high school player of the year in his grade 12 year. Leading the South Kamloops Titans to a 36–2 record, and a third place finish at the BC AAA High School Boys’ Basketball Championships.

Once Highschool was done, Kelly headed south across the border to attend Gonzaga University and eventually was selected 13th overall by The Dallas Mavericks in 2013. However he was then traded directly to the Boston Celtics where his career has truly taken the next step as he has now proven that he belongs in the best league in the world. Kelly won’t be the only star headlining this event. He will be joined by Danny Green of the San Antonio Spurs who is an outstanding 3 point marksmen and a crucial piece of the Spurs 2014 Championship team.
