Conor Morgan of UBC signs professional deal in New Zealand

Conor will play for the Southland Sharks in the NBL.

Vancouver B.C. - Congratulations to Vancouver Basketball contributer and UBC Basketball alum, Conor Morgan, who signed his first Professional contract today. Conor has signed with the Southland Sharks in New Zealand and will be suiting up next week with the Sharks as they begin their three-month long season. The Southland Sharks play in the eight team National Basketball League (NBL) and won the NBL Championship in 2013 and 2015. Conor joins a team that were the runner-ups last season.

Other Notes:

-Conor is headed back to the region after competing with the Canadian National Team that won silver at the Commonwealth games held in Gold Coast Australia.

-Steven Adams of the Oklahoma City Thunder played one season (unpaid to keep his college eligibility) in the NBL in 2011 before attending The University of Pittsburgh prior to entering the NBA.
