Conor Morgan signs in ACB to Spain

Divina Seguros Joventut plays in the ACB, which is widely considered the third best league in the world.

Vancouver, B.C. - Congratulations to UBC Thunderbirds Alum and Vancouver Basketball contributor, Conor Morgan, who has signed his second professional contract with Divina Seguros Joventut in the ACB, Spain’s Top Professional Division.

Widely regarded as the top domestic league the third best league in the world, behind the NBA and Euro League. Notable past players include NBA players include Ricky Rubio and Rudy Fernandez.

Conor is currently averaging 15.2 points, 6,1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 26.5 minutes for the Southland Sharks in New Zealand in his first professional season upon completing his eligibility with the Thunderbirds.

When asked about the season ahead, Conor said "It's a great opportunity to get my name into the European market at one of the highest levels possible. Can't wait to represent BC, UBC, and Canada over in Badalona."

On what playing professional basketball means to him:

The biggest thing for me is I want to gain the most out of basketball that I can. Money is good, but for me it is not everything, I enjoy changes to environments, meeting new people and at this point in my life - traveling the world! Living in Spain is a very fortunate way for me to start my career and I thank Joventut for giving me the opportunity to do so."
