Celebrating the launch of NBA Champion, Kyrie Irving's 3rd Signature Nike Basketball shoe, Vancouver Basketball photographers hit the road to New York City to capture the moment for their favourite brand.
This isn't the first time - or the last - you'll hear the name Mario Soriano. Born & Raised in East Vancouver he, alongside his two younger brothers, grew up with cameras in their hands. "We joke about how terrible the technology used to be in comparison to the horsepower we hold today...it's pretty remarkable." says Soriano.
With their heads seemingly in the clouds and happy as any aspiring pro photographers could be, Mario and his team at Victory Creative Group, Inc. have been tapped by, arguably, the best brand in basketball...Nike, Inc. "The past several years have been an absolute dream. One of my mentors spent the past 5 years at Nike, Inc. and took a chance on us. He trusted us to film in high-pressure, highly-competitive environments with Nike athletes. That, along with my upbringing and experience, really put our little Vancouver digital agency on the map."
Soriano shared that his favourite athletes to work with were 'all of them' (with a chuckle) and that the Nike athletes he's worked with the past several years have all been class acts to film & produce content around. "We're fortunate to be around some pretty special athletes...some of the best of our time...this is more than a job for us. Basketball and photography is our life's passion."
While many of their projects aren't public, they are proud to represent their favourite brand and work with athletes around the globe. "...make no mistake, we're always so happy when we land back in Vancouver. This is our city and we love this game."
