MADE Artshow: Queens of the Culture

On Thursday May 24th, eight amazing artists from Vancouver are collaborating to celebrate ‘The Queens of the Culture’. From Beyoncé and Sade to Sza and Cardi B, the artwork will pay tribute to iconic (both present & future) females from all eras.

This show will feature the work of Adam Hoens (@ndlocal), Casandra Parto (@casparto), Brandon Artis (@_brandonartis), Raman (@madebyrambo), Angela Martinez (@angelaestelle), Flory Huang (@floriental), and Megan McGrath (@megamcgrathh).

The event will be at Vancouver’s newest sneaker spot, GRAIL (2867 Granville Street, Vancouver) and feature tunes from DJ’s Seko and Des to set the vibe with food provided by Golden Era Food Truck. The event is 19+ and will run from 7pm-11pm.

The MADE 'Why?'

Music was the common ground. MADE art shows was founded by Albert Mundindi, a DJ and Adam Hoens, an Artist.

MADE started as an event with a concept to bridge the gap between music and visual art. In our minds, they went hand in hand, which lead to the night of April 23rd,2013, when the first MADEshow was curated. The goal was (and still is) to create an event which they themselves would want to attend.

That meant meeting five criteria:

1. A unique space

2. Dope DJs

3. Art exhibits

4. A memorable experience.

5. To have a "hip-hop" art show for artists & fans who are influenced by the culture of the music.

Since then, they’ve had the chance to work and collaborate with brands such as: Remy Martin, lululemon, Dipt, New Balance & more.

Their ‘why’ is simple, it’s for the culture - in hopes to collaborate with more brands and to celebrate more Artists work.

Be sure to check out the MADE Art Show on May 24th!
