This summer, Nike taps into the passion of aspiring young basketball players in Greater China with the 2014 RISE basketball campaign. Basketball-loving kids were invited to participate in the draft phase of RISE by submitting a 30-second basketball-themed video. Nike will invite a professional panel consisting of Wang Fei, Yi Jianlian and Chang Chun-Ning, to select the first 30 shortlisted players.
From July 21-25, LeBron James will be the first mentor to announce five of the 30 total players. He will visit Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taipei and Kaohsiung to help players improve their performance and achieve breakthrough.
“Each basketball player has the wish of making progress every day. They are looking forward to Nike providing them with various opportunities to prove their potential. This year’s RISE is a new platform. Even you’re a beginner. Nike will help those who aspire to improve basketball performance realize the journey of rising to the top this summer,” said Simon Pestridge, VP Brand Marketing, Greater China. “In the meantime, Nike will launch the first social basketball reality show in Greater China to inspire players to get out on the court, make progress and break through.”
