“Our Basketball journey is supposed to be a reflection of life. You fall, you get back up. You work hard, you’re disappointed. You Keep on pushing. There is only one thing to do in this life, keep grinding, Northsweats.”

Episode 1 of Northsweats introduces Professional Basketball trainer and speaks on his life journey from humble beginnings in Co-op housing in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Basketball has been everything for him in his life. Research has shown that being able to “practice as you preach”, is far more beneficial for an athlete’s motivation and Brodan displays this in his teachings.

This episode introduces two of the top players in BC, Ethan Fung (Grade 10 at Magee HS – Dynamite Basketball) and Eli Vanharen (Grade 8 – St. George’s School – Drive Elite) on their respective journeys with Coach Thiel. These boys are highly motivated and through the summer they have put in extensive work in the wee hours of the morning. Both are poised for big high school careers with their respective teams, and with the proper guidance and direction they may end up being the next big things out of Vancouver.

Also embedded in the episode is a look at the community service the three have done this past summer through the Swishin’ Mission which is a community-based fundraiser that allows kids in impoverished areas to received benefits they would otherwise not receive.
