Orangeville Prep will take their show on their road to Vancouver in March to play against some of the top players in the United States.

One of Canada’s top high school basketball programs, Orangeville Prep, will take their show on the road in the new year to compete in the Van City High School Basketball Showcase on March 18, 2017 in Vancouver, BC against Prolific Prep (Napa, CA). Orangeville Prep is best known for producing two top 10 picks in this year’s NBA Draft in Jamal Murray and Thon Maker.

Prolific Prep features some of the top high school players in the United States, including former Raptors player Gary Trent‘s son; Gary Trent Jr.

Trent Sr. was an 11-year NBA veteran who played 13 games in Toronto during the 1997-98 season and was originally drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. Trent Jr. has already committed to play for Duke University next year and is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the U.S by ESPN.

Prolific Prep also features other ESPN Top 100 players in Xavier commit Paul Scruggs and Oregon commit Abu Kigab.

Orangeville Prep is led by several elite prospects for the 2018 class including Ignas Brazdeikis, who has offers from likes of USC, Tennessee and Oregon and took an unofficial visit to Michigan this past weekend.

“Canadian Basketball is growing at an alarming level – Vancouver is on the rise,” said Jesse Tipping – Event Director and President of Pretty River Sports & Entertainment, which owns Orangeville Prep.

“It’s very clear from the prospects that have come out of British Columbia and looking at their young talent right now that there is a hunger for more. I hope this event helps push even more kids into playing the game.”

The Van City Showcase will be an annual event featuring some of Canada’s top prospects competing against their counterparts from the United States.
