FRIDAY

Douglas Royals 79 Langara Falcons 50

The Royals cruised to their sixth victory of the season with a 25 point third quarter outburst to down the Falcons.

Both Rachel Beauchamp and Sarah Jorgenson finished with a double-double. Beauchamp scored a game high 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds while Jorgenson finished with 14 and 10. Nanaya Miki and Sim Bir each chipped in with 11 points.

Capilano Blues 81 Quest Kermodes 60

The Blues offence shot 46% from the field and four players scored at least 13 points. Zuzia Zdziechowki led the way with a game high 18 points and point guard Ashley dela Cruz Yip knocked down 15 points. Carmelle M’Bikata chipped in with a strong 14 while Reido Ohama dropped in 13.

On the other side the Kermodes’ offence was led by Julia Gallant coming off the bench with 14 points and Kimmy Aburegeba collected 11.

VIU Mariners 80 CBC Bearcats 48

The Mariners had a balanced attack on Friday night shooting 42% from the field while holding the Bearcats to just 27%. Madeline Hart had a very solid game with 14 points, five assists and two steals coming off the bench. Both Danielle Vanbergen and Kaitlyn LaFontaine each came off the bench to dial up 11 points each. In all, the Mariners’ bench scored 47 of their 80 points.

Sarah Rozendal led the Bearcats with 11 points and five boards.

SATURDAY

Douglas Royals 74 Langara Falcons 37

The Royals continued their strong road play on Saturday outscoring the Falcons 21-2 in the second quarter alone on route to victory.

Each player on the roster scored and as a team they shot 43%. Nanaya Miki led the way with 13 points and tallied four rebounds. Jessica Castillo scored 11 and Sarah Jorgenson added 10 in the Royals’ seventh win of the season.

Their defence was equally impressive forcing 20 turnovers. As a matter of fact the only Falcon to score above 10 points was Alexa Leynes who finished with 12.

VIU Mainers 72 CBC Bearcats 57

Offensively the Mariners shot 42% from the field and four players scored in the double-digits. Both Emma Platner and Danielle Vanbergen dropped in 13 points each while Olivia Mjaaland added 12 more.

Anna Kamerman led the Bearcat offence and finished with a double-double but it wasn’t enough. She scored 14 points and 11 rebounds while Sarah Rozendal dropped in 14
