Los Angeles, California - Last night former BC 4A MVP and Walnuts Grove Gator Ty Rowell had himself a night to remember.  In their second contest of the year the Red Shirt Junior came out torching and never stopped. Rowell Finished with a career and game high 32 points on 9/15 shooting from the floor versus USC of the Pac 12.

Lancers Head Coach Rick Croy when asked if he was surprised about Ty’s performance had this to say,

“You know it was really special but I can’t say any of us are surprised. Ty has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever coached. He’s had an incredible response to the adversity he has with the injury. He’s don’t a lot of work since he went down with the injury he was playing great basketball when he went down last year against UC - Riverside. He represents everything we want to be about - very very proud of Ty”.

Rowell did all he could to keep pace with the Trojans however they size, athleticism and a little bit of home cooking from the officials helped the Trojans prevail 95 - 87 in OT. With the loss, Rowell and his CBU Lancers squad drop to 0 - 2 on the season, however, for a team which is only in its 3rd year of Division 1 competition after having moved up from division 2 taking a Pac 12 team to overtime is nothing to hang their heads on. The future is bright for not only Rowell but the Lancer program in general which has taken a liking of sorts to Canadian talent in recent years. Former Provincial MVP and NDSS product Suraj Gahir is also currently a Freshman on the squad.

Be sure to follow the Lancers progress and our BC boys this season as they navigate this Covid season with high hopes.

The Lancers next contest is December 2nd versus SE Louisiana at the CBU Events Center in Riverside, California.
