King George's Yoel Teclehaimanot puts on a show

Over the weekend, King George returned from Victoria, BC participating in the 2017 Victoria Police Tournament. King George edged out AA #9 Lambrick Park in the Finals. Yoel Teclehaimanot put on a show with an outstanding stat line of 51 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. Into the Finals King George had also beat #3 St. Michaels University and Shawinigan Lake. 

Tonight, King George faced Sir Charles Tupper in their own gym. King George had a quick start in the first quarter jumping to a 13 point lead. Tupper quickly came back with back to back three’s and some quick baskets in transition closing out the quarter 21-15. 

In the second quarter King George’s #6 Kyle Guerrero goes hot behind the perimeter and made five 3pt shots. With the help of Yoel’s 20 points and Kyle’s 18 points the Dragons lead the Tigers 31-49 at the half. 

In the Second half, with an team effort the Dragons kept on scoring and was too much for the Tigers to handle and lead to a 98-53 victory. 

On Wednesday, the Dragons will face Windermere at their gym in a league match up. It will be a rematch as King George defeated Windermere at the finals of The 2016 McDonald’s VPD Invitational tournament.
