On Thursday night in Richmond, McNair hosted the Richmond City Championships. In the finals was the reigning champions the Steveston-London Sharks and McMath Wildcats.
Last season Steveston-London had a tough heart breaking loss in the AAA Finals to Southridge. But they are back and on the road back to Langley Events Centre for the 2017 3A Provincial Championships.
Fardaws Aimaq put on a show as he was crowned the MVP for the Richmond City League. The 6’10” standout put up 44 points, 25 rebounds, and 11 blocks in the final match against McMath Wildcats. Aimaq almost accounted for half the points Steveston London scored.
Steveston London takes the win 94-86 to win the Richmond City Championships 2nd year in a row.
With their 1st place finish in the Richmond Cities, the Sharks will have a #2 Richmond Seed into the Lower Mainland Tournament in 2 weeks. The Tournament seeding is based on final league standings.
