Vancouver, B.C. - Congratulations to Drew Urquhart on signing his first pro contract. Drew will play for Parnu Sadam of the Estonian KML and Baltic League in 2018/2019.
Drew is fresh off graduating from University of Vermont where he averaged 11.1 Points, 5.4 Rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in his senior season. Vancouver Basketball asked Drew about the next step in his career. Drew responded:
"I chose Parnu because they play in a well respected league and are in need of a big man who can stretch the floor. It seems to be the best opportunity for me to come in a produce right away. Its a good spot to start my professional career.
Im looking forward to living in another country for a year, see what kind of non-basketball challenges arise and see how I can adapt and grow as a human.
Basketball wise Im looking forward to going out there, working hard and doing whatever I can to win games. Also looking forward to playing in front of European fans and the passion they bring to sports - from what I’ve seen and heard its more intense then any American or Canadian crowd.
Im expecting their to be tons of challenges, some being the language barrier, others having to adjust to playing against men and lastly fighting to keep a job on a daily basis."
