November 11, 2018

Vancouver, B.C. - The Douglas College Royals split their weekend games on a back-to-back over against the Camosun College Chargers and Vancouver Island University Mariners. Despite settling for one win, there was a lot of positives for Coach Beauchamp and Lady Royals.

Douglas College took care of business in their first match up with the Camosun Chargers. The Lady Royals pounded the ball inside the entire game and were able to come up big each quarter from the foul line, shooting almost 60 percent in the first half and 75 percent in the second. Rachel Beauchamp was a force for the Royals all night, playing 37 minutes and leading the way with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Douglas was in charge all game but late in the second half Chloe Scaber and Mia Roberts didn’t give in to the big deficit and sparked a big run for the Camosun Chargers bringing them with 10. Scaber led the Chargers with 18 points in minutes of play but ultimately it wasn’t enough to surpass the Royals.

The Royals will be at home Thursday November 15th vs Capilano at 7pm
